Fulginiti Center - Showing (work x family) - 12.06.18
Showing (work x family) On view January 11 - April 12, 2019 DEADLINE: December 6, 2018
The Center for Bioethics and Humanities (CBH) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is sponsoring a concurrent exhibition of photographs taken by our neighbors from the Aurora and Denver communities and across Colorado, that portray the overlap of work and family – what that means and what that looks like in the lives of our kids, coworkers, elders, partners, and society. We are seeking images that capture the diversity and challenge of balancing everyday routines and situations.
Forty images will be selected by a panel of photographers, artists, community members and university faculty. CBH will make 11”x14” prints of the selected works, and these will be displayed in the lobby of the Fulginiti Pavilion, on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Winners receive a $50 gift card, an invitation to an opening reception on January 31, 2019 at the Fulginiti, and will be given their print at the conclusion of the exhibit. There is no fee to participate in the competition or exhibition.
This Call for Submissions is open to everyone in our community; from all ages and all kinds of families. You may submit up to 3 images, using whatever equipment you have, from a mobile phone to a high-quality camera. Content is the most important factor.
Showing (work x family), is a multi-screen photography installation featuring the work of 135 renowned American photographers. It will be on exhibit at the Art Gallery at the Fulginiti Pavilion for Bioethics and Humanities.
Simple version: Submit a JPEG file shot at the highest quality your camera will allow.
Detailed version: The ideal high-resolution image will be 300dpi at 11x14 size, at least 5-8mb, saved in .TIFF or JPEG format. Set mobile phone cameras to HD or the highest resolution possible.
Photos that we select for inclusion in show must include an acknowledgement by the photographer, that they have the permission of the individuals portrayed. Photographers whose work is selected, and who are under 18 years of age, must have parent or guardian’s release to participate.
If you need technical assistance with your images, submissions or have any questions, contact: David.Weil@ucdenver.edu. Winners will be notified via email no later than January 4th.
We look forward to seeing your vision of Showing (work x family) Our Community.
