Beat the Whites with the Same Red Wedge, Version 3.2
Opens March 14, 5-8pm
Open studio and demonstration
In 1919 Lazar Markovich Lissitzky created the work commonly called "Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge."One hundred years later, Rick Griffith says, "We’ve been here before." Griffith re-orients the pages of Black publications into formats which resemble art. And with that—carries the weight of its content into the past and the future simultaneously. A pluperfect spiral.
Rick Griffith is an accomplished collagist whose work is stimulated and concerned with telling of history and the retelling of the future perfect.
